Speedball - Fall 2026
Edmonton Minor Softball Association (SEMSA) is proud to introduce Speedball. Speedball is not your average softball league, it is entirely focused on development and fun! The goal is to grow our athletes love of the game in a fast paced environment.
What is Speedball?
- Teams will be formed of five players. Games are played with three teams on the field at one time. One team plays Outfield, one team plays infield, and the third team is hitting.
- Once the team hitting has three outs, or they score five runs, they rotate to the Outfield, outfield rotates to infield, and infield rotates to hitting. Everyone is always in the game and we minimize the amount of waiting and watching.
- The games are entirely coach pitch which keeps the pace up. Teams will have to swing the bat and play defense.
- Teams will be balanced to relatively equal skill, a great opportunity for players from different divisions to get to know each other.
- Each team will have one to two coaches who will keep the athletes organized and promote fairness and fun.
